Cyan is a proper utility colour — cool, clean and endlessly mixable. On its own it's a crisp, bright blue; in the mixing pot it's the colour that pulls purples, greens and greys back onto the cool side of the spectrum. If your palette's drifted warm, this is the tube that rebalances it. Best for Cooling and rebalancing purples, greens and greys Clean, bright-blue accents and gems Cool NMM highlights on metallics Glazing over blue or teal bases It's more mixing-tray staple than straight-from-the-tube colour, but keep it close — you'll reach for it more than you expect. The cool base for custom mixes. Blend it out with a soft filbert brush and a splash of white spirit.
